EXPLOMINTM provides the routine, automated documentation of mineralogy, alteration and textures on core and crushed samples, for a statistically robust comparison that allows for 3D mapping and manipulation. It supports the consistent logging of new and legacy core for:

How Does EXPLOMINTM Work?
EXPLOMINTM uses QEM-SCAN (Quantitative Evaluation of Minerals via Scanning Electron Microscopy) Automated Mineralogy (SEM + EDXRF) on polished sections of core or crushed material and includes:
- Mineral identification
- Modal mineralogy
- Mineral associations
- Grain size and abundance
- Particle size, shape factor
- Deportment of three metals
- Liberation information
- Deleterious minerals and environmental parameters
- 1.5MB false color image (jpg or bitmap) that allows textural interpretation (top right)
Any of these parameters can then be linked to geochemical / assay data to define geological domains or mapped in 3D, allowing for a better use of core and core logging.EXPLOMINTM generates a robust database in a fixed report format that can be integrated with sampling for further development or used to define geologic domains.
