Russia - 16/09/08 SGS Minerals Services in Chita, Russia Conforms To ISO/17025 (GOST R System) For Geochemical Services SGS is pleased to announce that SGS Minerals Services geochemical laboratory in Chita, Russia, has successfully completed the site and technical evaluation for accreditation to conform to ISO/IEC 17025. The evaluation procedure was an overview of the quality system and of technical documentation and protocols, sample analysis, proficiency testing, overview of training procedures, laboratory space and traceability of reagents and equipment. The accreditation program is monitored by the Russian Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology (GOST R System).The Chita geochemical laboratory is equipped with a high volume sample preparation facility, multi-pour fire assay, ICP-OES, AAS, carbon/sulfur and classical analytical methods for the analysis of Au, Pt, Pd, base metals, major oxides and refractories, trace and pathfinder elements. The Chita Lab is capable of processing over 1,000,000 fire assay determinations each year. At the Chita site, SGS also has a comprehensive metallurgical facility for testing of various ores and process flow sheet development. The laboratory capabilities include grind ability studies, flotation and leaching, including bio-leach.
